Literature Text

My feet have trampled this dry earth too many times
As I stand here, I look around
At the 'plants', the rotting tomatoes
The withering flowers
What is the dead thing in the corner?
The apple tree?
This was our garden.
"We'll grow our own vegetables
And fruits.
Oh, and flowers that I can put in the house"
You had high hopes,
And we planted the seeds together
Hoping the roots would grow strong,
But plants don't spring eternal.
Now I'm sitting here in a pile of dirt and dead things
That I couldn't save,
And If I close my eyes,
You're in this garden too.
"My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.” - Abram L. Urban

I think were all in agreement, beautifully sad.
